Manganese-Based Metal-Organic Frameworks as Heterogeneous Catalysts for the Cyanosilylation of Acetaldehyde <<>>
Written by Tim Ladrak, Simon Smulders, Olivier Roubeau, Simon J. Teat, Patrick Gamez, Jan Reedijk on June 25, 2010 – 9:58 am -Two new metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), namely [Mn3(atpa)3(dmf)2] and [Mn2(tpa)2(dmf)2], were ready-to-serve in N,N-dimethylformamide (dmf) from manganese(II) nitrate and two dicarboxylic acid ligands, 2-aminoterephthalic acid (H2atpa) and terephthalic acid (H2tpa). The molecular structures of these MOFs are compared to two agnate coordination polymers, namely [Mn3(atpa)2(Hatpa)2] and [Mn3(tpa)3(def)2], which were obtained in N,N-diethylformamide (def), to investigate the effect of disregard ligand or profitable changes on the framework architecture. The four Mn-based MOFs were reach-me-down as essential Lewis catalysts for the cyanosilylation of acetaldehyde. The four heterogeneous catalytic systems can be re-used without any marked disappointment of vigour <<>>

A Hydroscopic Self-Catenated Net Formed by Borromean Layers Interlocked by Ferrocenyl Bridging Ligands <<>>
Written by Xianju Shi, Weiyin Wang, Hongwei Hou, Yaoting Fan on June 25, 2010 – 9:58 am -Reaction of a springy tripodal ligand, 1,3,5-tris(1,2,4-triazol-1-ylmethyl)-2,4,6-trimethylbenzene (tttmb), and an organometallic carboxylate 1,1[prime]-bis(3-carboxy-1-oxopropyl)ferrocene (H2bfcs) with Cd(Ac)2·2H2O yields a trinodal, self-catenated 3D layer pillar complex {[Cd3(bfcs)3(tttmb)2(H2O)4]·8H2O}n (1), which is formed by connecting 2D hexagonal CdII-tttmb Borromean layers washing one's hands of ferrocenyl bridges in both inter- and intralayers. The complex can suffer a dehydrated and rehydrated activity in a single-crystal-to-single-crystal manner without affecting the all-embracing framework. The amorphous cross-section of 1 can be regenerated by O to the crystalline documentation again. In addition, the nitrogen adsorption attribute of 1 was also investigated <<>>

Composite and Physicochemical Properties of Bis(fluoroalkanesulfon)amide-Based Ionic Liquids <<>>
Written by Cheng-Pan Zhang, Zong-Ling Wang, Qing-Yun Chen, Chun-Tao Zhang, Yu-Cheng Gu, Ji-Chang Xiao on June 25, 2010 – 9:58 am -A series of bis(fluoroalkanesulfon)amides were synthesized in okay assent from the resistance of fluoroalkanesulfonamides and fluoroalkylsulfonyl fluorides. Ionic liquids based on these amide anions and an imidazolium cation demonstrated exhilarated densities and a substantial temperature pigeon-hole for the translucent grandeur <<>>

Discrete, Base-Free, Cationic Alkaline-Earth Complexes - Access and Catalytic Vocation in the Polymerization of Lactide <<>>
Written by Yann Sarazin, Valentin Poirier, Thierry Roisnel, Jean-François Carpentier on June 25, 2010 – 9:58 am -Well-defined, pornographic free cations of zinc and the alkaline-earth metals (Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba) supported by a multidentate phenolate ligand and stabilized by perfluorinated weakly coordinating counterions are immediately elbow by guileless procedures; the solid-state structures of the magnesium and calcium derivatives were elucidated. Taken advantage of treatment with an superfluous of iPrOH, these complexes fabricate highly efficient binary catalytic systems for the heavenly ring-opening polymerization of L-lactide, pliant poly(L-lactide)s with controlled architectures and molecular features <<>>

A Hydroscopic Self-Catenated Net Formed by Borromean Layers Interlocked by Ferrocenyl Bridging Ligands
Written by Xianju Shi on June 25, 2010 – 5:00 am -Reaction of a flexible tripodal ligand, 1,3,5-tris(1,2,4-triazol-1-ylmethyl)-2,4,6-trimethylbenzene (tttmb), and an organometallic carboxylate 1,1′-bis(3-carboxy-1-oxopropyl)ferrocene (H2bfcs) with Cd(Ac)2·2H2O yields a trinodal, self-catenated 3D layer pillar complex {[Cd3(bfcs)3(tttmb)2(H2O)4]·8H2O}n (1), which is formed by connecting 2D hexagonal CdII–tttmb Borromean layers through ferrocenyl bridges in both inter- and intralayers. The complex can undergo a dehydrated and rehydrated process in a single-crystal-to-single-crystal manner without affecting the overall framework. The amorphous sample of 1 can be regenerated by water to the crystalline material again. In addition, the nitrogen adsorption property of 1 was also investigated. An unprecedented self-catenated 3D layer pillar framework formed by connecting 2D borromean layers through ferrocenyl bridges is presented. The complex can undergo a dehydrated and rehydrated process in a single-crystal-to-single-crystal manner without affecting the overall framework. The amorphous sample can further be regenerated by water to the crystalline material again.

Synthesis, Structures, and Captivating Properties of Two Cobalt(II) Isophthalate Coordination Polymers <<>>
Written by Xiao-Ning Cheng, Wei Xue, Xiao-Ming Chen on June 24, 2010 – 9:17 am -Two new 3D coordination polymers, [Co6([mu]3-OH)2(ipa)5(H2O)5]·8H2O (1) and [Co2(ipa)2(iPrOH)0.5(H2O)0.5]·(iPrOH)0.5(H2O) (2) (H2ipa = isophthalic acid, IPrOH = 2-propanol), were synthesized by solvothermal reactions of Co(OAc)2 and H2ipa in methanol and iPrOH, respectively. Mix 1 is a cluster-based 3D spongelike framework with Co6 nodes and ipa2- linkers. Composite 2 is a chain-based framework composed of CoII 41 helical [Delta] chains cross-linked by ipa2- ligands with one-dimensional channels in the c directing. Both 1 and 2 register spin-canting behavior for the antiferromagnetic triangular geometry and sickly long-range ordering for the entity of guest molecules <<>>

Lysine Acetylation: The Fabrication of a Modification from Transcription Normal to Metabolism <<>>
Written by Mohammed Arif, B. Ruthrotha Selvi, Tapas K. Kundu on June 24, 2010 – 9:13 am -Reversible lysine acetylation is an stuck-up modification twisted in the modulation of gene language. Acetyl-CoA and NAD+ are dominant determinants of this modification, NAD+ levels being regulated by the cellular redox pre-eminence. Brand-new reports would rather shown that lysine acetylation also regulates metabolic processes, way linking the central metabolic function to gene declaration <<>>
